Seat On The Korner: Francisco Lindor

We select the star of the game and virtually invite him to a Seat on the Korner, just as Ralph Kiner used to do for his studio postgame show on WOR-channel 9 broadcasts in the early decades of the Mets.

Today's Seat On The Korner goes to Francisco Lindor. Lindor had an exceptional performance, going 4-for-4 at the plate, showcasing his consistency and skill. Over the last 26 games, he has maintained an impressive .330 batting average (35-for-106), contributing significantly to his team's success. His recent stats include 20 runs, ten doubles, five home runs, 14 RBIs, nine walks, and five steals, underscoring his all-around prowess and making him a standout player in the league. The big blow was DJ Stewart’s three-run home run. Mark Vientos started the rally with a sharp single to left field. Jeff McNeil followed with a single, moving Vientos to second. Francisco Lindor then singled on a sharp ground ball, deflected by the shortstop, driving in Vientos and advancing McNeil to third. Brandon Nimmo continued the onslaught with an RBI single, scoring McNeil and moving Lindor to second. After a mound visit, J.D. Martinez flew out to deep center, allowing Lindor to advance to third and Nimmo to second. Pete Alonso then singled on a ground ball, driving in Lindor. The inning's highlight came when DJ Stewart hit a three-run home run, scoring Nimmo and Alonso. The inning concluded with Tyrone Taylor flying out to right fielder Adolis García, but not before the damage was done.
