DJ Stewart was a key in many ways today, first with the bat, going 2 for 4, 2 homeruns, and 3 rbis, then he used his arm to fire a perfect relay to Jeff McNeil to cut down Andrew McCutchen at the plate, and to cap it off used his glove in the 6th to prevent a ball from bouncing into the stands for a ground rule double, and then one play later running down Ke'Bryan Hayes shot in right field to end the threat.

Tylor Megill somehow wiggled in and out of trouble by far his best start since his return from AAA going 5 innings scattering 5 hits, walked 4 struck out 5 , giving up 2 runs to pick up his 7th win of the season.

Phil Bickford, Brooks Raley , Trevor Gott and Adam Ottavino gave the Mets 4 quality innings of relief , Bickford was touched up for the only hits and runs , as Raley ,Gott and Ottavino each pitched a hitless and scoreless frame.
