The Mets took a 2 run lead into the top of the 8th inning, Buck called on David Robertson after Jeff Brigham and Brooks Raley kept the Giants off the board, Robertson struck out Wilmer Flores but Joc Pederson reached on a throwing error by first baseman Pete Alonso, the usually dependable Robertson preceded to walk J.D. Davis and gave up a 3 run home run to Patrick Bailey to put the Giants up 5-4.

Flores, like Conforto, began his career with the Mets. Both J.D. Davis and Wilmer Flores were in the starting lineup. They were a combined 1 for 9, the one being Wilmer Flores 5th inning home run, his 8th of the season.
